The cast of Eye Candy shares new information about their characters as promotion heats up before the series premiere.

Three days out from MTV’s debut of Eye Candy to the world, the cast of the cybertastic drama is out spreading buzz in anticipation for the show.

In a recent interview with Wetpaint Harvey Guillen had some new information to share about his IT expert character George; who on the surface could come off as nothing more than the dorky best friend to Victoria Justice’s lead.

But the actor’s comments on the role were much more interesting. “He’s a ladies man,” the actor shared, “He doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him.”

Guillen went on to stress, “We didn’t want to make George the stereotype. It was easy to make him the comic relief. With me being a guy of size, it would be so easy to use those kinds of jokes. But we wanted to get away from all that because that’s what the industry does. We pigeonhole people and stereotype them. But we wanted to show that you don’t have to be a particular size to be a ladies man.”

A big promise considering what the majority of TV chooses to portray.

Additional information that came from the article was a little less surprising, but it did confirm and elaborate on what teasers have only suggested. For instance, although we know that Ryan Cooper’s character Jake is being set up as Lindy’s initial romantic partner within the show, things might not be so simple for the budding pair.

Casey Deidrick, who plays Tommy, a young detective set on containing Lindy and holding her accountable for her crimes, thinks there may be more respect between the two characters than you may initially suspect.

He starts out as seeing Lindy as bad news, “In the beginning, he wants nothing to do with her. But I think as the season progresses, you see the mistrust turns into something where he actually really likes having this girl around. And it can bloom into something.”

Will those feelings evolve in a romantic way or will we see a modern day version of a buddy cop relationship form? That we’re unsure of. But knowing that the two characters will get the chance to develop alongside each other is quite nice. Considering how much chemistry the two actors had on screen during their shared sneak peek.

And although the comparisons to Pretty Little Liars continue to circulate, the show will be threading their mystery all throughout the season, it does appear that some solution is in sight. “I think the writing does a very good job of making you suspect certain characters,” Deidrick assures. “You honestly have no idea, and in the end, it’s going to be someone that you did not even think twice about. And I think that’s what really cool about it.”

As long as the killer isn’t Dan Humphrey then we’re willing to see where this goes.
