The fourth season of ATX Television Festival is coming up in a few months, from the Gilmore Girls reunion to a Dawson’s Creek panel, we give you five reasons to excited.

Don’t know what ATX Festival is? It’s a one-stop shop for TV fandoms, many of whom don’t get to shine at places like Comic-Con. Taking place the first weekend of June this year, each “season” offers a different, but equally enticing line up, comprised of shows we’ve loved, reuniting in Texas to delight fans, or current shows looking to one final push of press before the end of the television season.

Shows of all kinds will be in attendance, such as the feature image above. There’s Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, ABC Family’s The Fosters, FX’s The Comedians, and Amy Sherman Pallindino and the Gilmore Girls, as well as a slew of other programming, which you can find here.

ATX will be making announcements about show and celebrity appearances as the confirmations come in, so be sure to follow them on Twitter and check it periodically for new updates. Unfortunately (for the fans –- great news for the conference organizers), passes for the weekend have sold out but you can rely on Hypable to give you access to the panels, screenings and red carpets all weekend long.

Now, onto what we’re looking forward to seeing…

The ‘Gilmore Girls’ reunion (finally!)

We are big Gilmore Girls fans around here, which means when the announcement dropped that there would be a reunion in Austin, we took a break from arguing the merits of Logan, Jess or Dean (who has none), and collectively broke out the DVDs/Netflix accounts to re-binge the series. Since then, even more actors from the show have announced their attendance and it’s become the Closing Night panel, co-sponsored by Entertainment Weekly.

Check out this brand-new video of Matt Czuchry, talking his current show, The Good Wife and Gilmore Girls (starts around 2:30).

The ‘Suits’ season 5 premiere screening

We learned earlier this month that Suits season 5 won’t premiere until June 24, but the Festival announced via Twitter that the premiere episode will be screening at ATX.

If you’ve been following along with the behind-the-scenes crew (who post some great pictures of set!), or the actors themselves, you’ll know that they’re currently ankle-deep in season 5. When asked if any one from the show will be attending ATX, showrunner/creator Aaron Korsh replied:

FX and FXX shows will be in attendance

It seems like half the network’s lineup is heading to Texas for the weekend. From newbie The Comedians, to vets like You’re the Worst — season 2 is to debut this summer –- to FX’s dramas, like the heavy Justified, the network will be out in full-force. If you like FX’s original programming, there’s sure to be a few live-tweets that catch your eye over the weekend. There will even be a screening of series premiere of their new show, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.

Side note: We highly recommend you start watching The Comedians. It stars Josh Gad and Billy Crystal who play exaggerated versions of themselves trying to make a TV show. It’s all very meta, and very funny. Yes there are Frozen and “I’ll have what she’s having” jokes. Plus: where else can you see Billy Crystal get high and ransack a grocery store in a tux?

The ‘Dawson’s Creek’ writers room reunion panel

We’re pumped to hear from the writers that defined 90’s teenage angst, long before we had Marissa Cooper and Seth Cohen detail the dramas of Orange County. Writing teenage drama might have evolved a little over the past twenty years or so, now writers have to figure out how teens are using the latest tech, and the wardrobe’s been upgraded a little bit (thanks, Blair and Serena), but there’s no drama since Dawson’s Creek that’s encapsulated its spirit. And that’s all thanks to the writers.

The stuff that will be happening in Austin, TX that weekend

Like Comic-Con, there are plenty of events that will take place that are not officially affiliated with the festival, such as the presence of this writer’s favorite podcast, the Nerdist Writers Panel. As host Ben Blacker said on the NWP episode that came out earlier this month, serving as a flashback to last year’s ATX Festival, “it’s going to be crazy, it’s going to be fun, you don’t want to miss it.”

And everything else!

There are panels for every kind of TV fan. There’s ‘The Evolution of The Simpsons‘, a panel for the ABC Family show The Fosters, a Queer as Folk 15 year reunion, a Conversation with Marta Kauffman (writer/producer on Friends), the list goes on!

We love the television community, and whether you’ll be there in person or not, we encourage you to participate in the conversation on Twitter and Facebook.
