Watch a new trailer for Ex Machina, a sci-fi thriller starring Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and Swedish actress Alicia Vikander as the robotic A.I. named Ava.

Not only does Ex Machina have an excellent cast, with Golden Globe-nominated actor Oscar Isaac, and Harry Potter star Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley), it looks like one heck of an interesting sci-fi film. Watch the movie’s new trailer below:

In a time where superhero movies and franchise films are flooding the theaters, it’s nice to see an interesting sci-fi film, which also stars Swedish actress Alicia Vikander as the A.I. named Ava.

Vikander has reportedly put in some incredible performances in foreign films, as well as some smaller roles in Anna Karenina, and more recently in Seventh Son. We’re excited to see her in this role, and later on in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. alongside Henry Cavill.

The trailer shows a lot of new footage from the film, and we see Gleeson’s character visiting a strange place, where he’s supposedly brought to test out Ava’s artificial intelligence. But, Oscar Isaac’s character, who is a scientist of sorts, may have some other plans he’s not telling them.

The film’s official synopsis: “Alex Garland, writer of 28 Days Later and Sunshine, makes his directorial debut with the stylish and cerebral thriller, EX MACHINA. Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company’s brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac). Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathan’s latest experiment in artificial intelligence.”

The trailer is beyond intriguing, and while we’ve seen similar sci-fi films before, this cast and the cinematography seems like it’ll be a great cinematic experience.

We’re glad to see Domhnall Gleeson getting a shot to star in a film alongside Oscar Isaac, and look forward to seeing Swedish actress Alicia Vikander in her first starring role in an American film.

Ex Machina hits theaters April 10, 2015, and was directed by Alex Garland.
