Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful has been receiving a lot of publicity, and today four character posters were released – featuring James Franco as The Wizard and Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz as the three witches – Theodora, Glinda, and Evanora, respectively.

Hitting theaters in (finally!) just a little over a month on March 8, 2013, Oz The Great and Powerful is the prequel to the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) and written by David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole), the film will tell the tale of how the wizard ended up in Oz from Kansas. Check out the wonderful character posters below!

Hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he first thinks he’s hit the jackpot — until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil and put his own magical talents to the test to transform himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, but a better man as well.

Oz The Great and Powerful will hit theaters in 2D, 3D, and 3D IMAX, and also stars Zach Braff, Joey King and Bruce Campbell. Be sure to check out the trailer!

What do you think of these new character posters? Do you think the movie will live up to the amount of publicity it’s receiving?
