It was announced last night that Eva Longoria is slated to join Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a three-episode arc during season 2 this fall.

The actress, known best for her role on Desperate Housewives, is slated to join the cast sometime in season 2. According the press release, she will play Sophia, “a defense attorney who catches Jake’s attention when she faces off against him in court.”

Kyra Sedgwick, former NFL wide receiver Tarrell Owens, and Jenny Slate are also slated to appear throughout the season. Slate will be featured in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 premiere on September 28.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 1 finale saw detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) leave the precinct in order to go undercover for an FBI investigation, and finally reveal his romantic feelings for partner Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero). We hope to see her address her feelings for Jake during the season premiere, and find out how Gina is doing on her Cwazy Cupcakes game.

Also according to the press release, Captain Ray Holt will “find himself face-to-face with his longtime nemesis (Sedgwick) as the NYPD goes through administration changes.” What does that mean for the Nine-Nine?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is going into season 2 with high expectations. The show received a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series in comedy during its freshman season this past January. Andy Samberg also took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy.
