Sin City: A Dame to Kill For‘s latest character posters featured many stars, but Eva Green was missing because the MPAA felt the poster featuring her was a bit too sexy.

The original Sin City was widely praised and is noted for creating the massive genre of graphic novel adaptations that we see in theaters today. It also pushed limits, which its sequel is apparently willing to do as well.

Actress Eva Green stars in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and her recent poster was banned from appearing in theaters by the MPAA due to “nudity — curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.” But now we have the poster, so let us know what you think:

While it does show a bit more than normal posters, we’re surprised the MPAA put the hammer down on showcasing this poster. But this is most likely a strategic move by the studio to bring more attention to the film.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For shares the first film’s striking visuals and the latest trailer features new cast members that look to be promising additions to what was a breathtakingly original film.

The graphic novel sequel is highly anticipated and cast additions including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin and Eva Green look to be a perfect fit for the interesting world that is Sin City. Watch the sequel’s first trailer, which premiered back in March.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For weaves together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales in which the town’s most hard-boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants.

The star studded ensemble includes already announced original cast members Academy Award® nominee Mickey Rourke as “Marv,” Jessica Alba as “Nancy,” Rosario Dawson as “Gail” and Jaime King as “Goldie/Wendy,” with new cast members Joseph Gordon-Levitt as “Johnny,” Dennis Haysbert as “Manute” and Jamie Chung as “Miho.”

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is currently set to be released August 22, 2014.
