Eva Green has just joined the cast as the Dame (Ava Lord) in director Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Eva Green has been selected for the role after many rumors and reports of even Angelina Jolie on the list of actresses looking to star in the Sin City sequel.

Filming for the sequel has been in progress for months now in Texas in director Robert Rodriguez’s film studio and there have been many reports that some of the cast have already finished filming all their scenes. Due to the use of green-screen in the film, actors have been able to jump in when time permits and get their parts done. Obviously this is a bit different than normal shooting, but the first Sin City went on to become somewhat of new category of film in itself and we don’t expect anything less for the sequel.

In the press release found on Variety, Rodriguez and his co-director Frank Miller stated, “Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green.”

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has a seriously star-studded cast that includes many newcomers and stars from the original including, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Christopher Meloni, Jamie Chung, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Roasrio Dawson, and Juno Temple. We look forward to seeing the Sin City sequel when it hits theaters October 4, 2013.
