Erin Richards, who will be guest starring in series 5 of Merlin, has revealed what episodes she’ll appear in and who she’s working with.

On Twitter, Richards has been communicating with fans, and in the process she has let some details slip about her upcoming Merlin appearance in series 5 as Eira.

Among other things, the actress revealed that she’ll be appearing in the final two episodes of the season, 5×12 and 5×13, and that they are “amazing.”

Further, Richards has talked about working with Colin Morgan (Merlin) and Eoin Macken (Gwaine, her character’s purported love interest), saying, “Worked with Colin today, lovely as expected! Him and Eoin are brilliant actors to work with.”

While it seems like Richards will mainly be interacting with the Camelot crew, she also mentions doing a scene with Katie McGrath, who plays Morgana: “We had a scene today and she was so so lovely. Amazing actress.”

As Richards is set to appear in the final two episodes, the fact that she has a scene with Morgana could be a hint as to some final showdown going on. And it’s interesting that she – if in fact she is no more than Gwaine’s love interest – would be involved with that.

What are your theories about Eira’s role? Will she have some kind of tie to the magical world perhaps, or could Morgana maybe take her hostage in a bid to crush Gwaine and the rest of the Camelot knights?

And most importantly, will she make it out of her last episode alive, or will the Merlin writers use her for an emotional, end-of-year death?
