Catfish: The TV Show’s Nev Schulman is the latest producer to come under fire for sexual misconduct allegations and MTV is wasting no time when it comes to looking into the matter.

According to E! News, MTV has officially temporarily stopped production on their popular reality series Catfish: The TV Show following sexual misconduct allegations brought forth against series host and executive producer Nev Schulman.

The network has halted production in an effort to get to the bottom of the allegations against Schulman, promising to conduct a thorough investigation.

“We take these allegations very seriously,” said a spokesperson for the network on Thursday (May 17). “We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation, and we’ve put a pause on shooting until the investigation is complete.”

Allegations against Schulman, whose series is currently in its seventh season at MTV, surfaced on May 12 via a YouTube video posted by Ayissha Morgan.

Morgan appeared on Catfish: The TV show back in 2015 and claims that she was sexually harassed by Schulman over the course of the production of her episode.

In the video, Morgan refers to Schulman by the pseudonym “Jack” and claims that despite telling him she is a lesbian, “Jack” repeatedly questioned her identity and later propositioned her.

In a statement released Wednesday, Schulman denied the claims brought forth against him.

“The behavior described in this video did not happen and I’m fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth,” said Schulman in a statement. “I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions — but these claims are false.”
