The season 2 premiere of Empire isn’t until September 23, but we have two new songs to get you off your feet!
Season 2 of the hit musical hip-hop drama doesn’t premiere for a few more weeks, but the two new singles released by Fox are sure to whet your appetite.
The first single is by Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) and called “No Doubt About It,” and we can guarantee there is no doubt that this song will be on repeat. It’s a dance track and features who else but Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull. The song was written by Pitbull and Ne-Yo.
We’re sure to hear more tracks by Ne-Yo in the near future since he joined the Empire team earlier this summer.
The second single is called “Ain’t about the Money” and features the Lyon brothers, Jussie Smollett and Yazz (Jamal and Hakeem).
We love the brotherly love and harmonizing on this track. If it sounds familiar to any of you, it’s because it’s been heavily used in the promos for the much-anticipated season 2.
Empire’s second season is already coming off to a great start with numerous guest stars and appearances by Mariah Carey, Chris Rock, Ludacris, Kelly Rowland, Ne-Yo, Marisa Tomei, Alicia Keys, Pitbull and Lenny Kravitz. We’re sure there will be more to come.
With all those guest stars, how will Empire stay true to its story, you ask? Well apparently the simple solution to that was a spinoff, of course! Co-creator Lee Daniels informed us at the TCA panel that we may get a prequel of sorts about our beloved Cookie. We all know we can never get enough of Taraji P. Henson.

With Lucious in prison, Jamal as the head of Empire, and Cookie wanting to take it all with Hakeem and Andre’s help, we can’t wait for these next few weeks to fly by!
