The ASA Awards are tonight on Empire 2×17, “Rise By Sin.” Who will tonight’s shooter be?
Last week’s Empire showed us a different side of some of the Lyon family, when Lucious’ mother returned. Everyone presumed her dead, except for Lucious. At first we all thought that Lucious was the scheming SOB that he usually is but then at the end of the episode we saw Leah Walker’s true colors. That woman is unhinged!
A new song was also created, inspired by Lucious’ mother being “back,” and that new melody will be performed by the Lyon-trio at the ASA awards.
It is teased in this trailer below for Empire 2×17, “Rise By Sin,” that “One Lyon Will Fall.”
It’s a bit of a vague saying because having one Lyon “fall” doesn’t necessarily mean they will die. At least let’s hope not. Instead of asking which Lyon we think “will fall,” we thought we’d switch it up a bit and instead ask who you think the shooter will be?
The synopsis doesn’t give us any hints either way: “Hakeem feels the pressure of his underwhelming fiancé, Laura, as he struggles to find a place for her both in his family and his career. Cookie finally reveals to Jamal the truth behind what happened to Freda’s father, prompting Jamal to warn Freda of his family’s ulterior motives. Meanwhile, despite his frustration with the family, Jamal makes a sacrifice for Lucious from which it will be hard to recover.”
That synopsis only tells us more of a motive on Freda being the shooter. But we can never be too sure, especially on Empire!
