We’ve been looking forward to it for a while, and now we officially know that Emma Watson and Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring will hit theaters this June.

The news was announced by distributor A24, who also revealed that the Sundance 2013 hit The Spectacular Now (starring Shailene Woodley) will open in August.

The Bling Ring is based off of actual events where Miss Neiers, played by Watson, and her fellow fame-obsessed teenagers use the Internet to track celebrities’ whereabouts in order to rob their homes. Some of the victims included Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan and Rachel Bilson.

Last month, Watson spoke about why she had a hard time portraying the role of a thief. “I had to get into the shoes of someone that I couldn’t relate to, and I never had to do that before,” Watson explained. “And by the end of it – it was really interesting getting into this girl’s head. She represents a lot of work I basically stand against, so it was really fascinating to break it down and be like, ‘What is this actually about?'”

The film was written and directed by Coppola. Other cast members include Leslie Mann (Nicki’s mother), Taissa Farmiga (Sam), Erin Daniels (Shannon), Gavin Rossdale (Ricky), and Stacy Edwards (Debbie).

We’re really excited for this one, and we’ll hear more information about it over the next few months!
