Emma Watson has found her next project: political thriller Colonia with Daniel Brühl.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl will star in Colonia, a political thriller set in the ’70s.

The film is set in the Chilean military coup of 1973. Watson and Brühl will star as a young German couple named Lena and Daniel who get entangled in the overthrowing of democratically elected president Salvador Allende, which is a very violent affair. In the process Daniel is abducted by the dictator-to-be and current secret chief of police, and Lena tracks him to Colonia Dignidad, a sealed off area led by preacher Paul Schäfer. She quickly finds out that the area is being used as a torture and detention center and that it is unlikely that her husband will ever leave the compound, as few ever do.

The film will be directed by Florian Gallenberger, director of the 2001 Oscar winning live action short film Quiero ser (I Want to Be…). Gallenberger has also directed feature length film Mysterium einer Notdurftanstalt, Tango Berlin, Honolulu, Shadows of Time, and, most recently, City of War: The Story of John Rabe. He will direct Colonia from his own script.

The film has already begun shooting, and is expected to continue throughout the rest of 2014. Filming will take place in Luxemburg, Germany and South America.

For Watson, the project looks like just another great project that she’s set to have released in the not too distant future. She’s likely set to star in the musical La La Land and While We’re Young, a film where a senior wakes up realizes she’s 29 years old again, Beauty, an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and an adaptation of the yet unreleased Queen of the Tearling, all set for the future. She recently completed filming Regression with Ethan Hawke where she plays the daughter of man who is charged with a crime he doesn’t remember committing.
