Emma Watson has tweeted that she’s just finished filming Beauty and the Beast on the same day she began her journey as Hermione in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

In a happy coincidence, Emma Watson reveals that she finished filming on her first musical the same day she started her incredible journey as Hermione in the first Harry Potter film 15 years ago (August 21, 2000). Read her tweet below:

Emma Watson has been portraying Belle for the last few months as Disney shot its live-action Beauty and the Beast adaptation. It seems to give the actress a great feeling to wrap filming on Beauty and the Beast on the same day she began her amazing journey playing Hermione at age 11. The press conference on August 21 was the first time the beloved trio was seen by the public prior to principal photography.

We haven’t seen all that much of Beauty and the Beast other than a very quick preview at Disney’s D23 Expo last weekend (sorry, the footage isn’t available online), but we expect the adaptation to be a major success for Disney, with Bill Condon directing the film’s stars Emma Watson and Luke Evans.

Emma will most likely do some additional work on the film before we finally get to see it in theaters in a year and a half, but the official wrap day landing on August 21, the first official day of her journey as Hermione 15 years ago, seems like a very special experience for the actress.

Her Harry Potter co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, has been making his mark on Hollywood too, with Rupert Grint being praised for his work on the stage. Emma Watson has done a great job branching out into a new career since she and the original trio began the next chapter of their lives since Potter ended.

She’s also become a UN Goodwill Ambassador and has continued to make great efforts to address gender equality issues. She’s done incredible work using her prominent position in the media to fight against sexism and discrimination against women with her HeForShe campaign.

Belle was a highly sought-after role when it came time for Disney to find their next live-action princess, and she won the role with over half a dozen other talented actresses aiming for the part. It’ll be Emma’s first musical, which is exciting, and fans expect great things from the talented actress.

While Beauty and the Beast won’t hit theaters until March 17, 2017, we’re already excited to see the Harry Potter star as one of Disney’s most beloved princesses.
