Update (9/24/19): Casting for Disney’s Cruella is well under way and now, we’re getting word of yet another star who’ll be joining Emma Stone in the upcoming live-action feature.

Variety reports that actress Kirby Howell-Baptiste has officially signed on to star in Disney’s upcoming live action feature centered around notorious 101 Dalmations villain, Cruella de Vil.

Fans of BBC America’s hit drama, Killing Eve will likely be very familiar with Howell-Baptiste’s work. The actress portrays Elena — one of the MI6 partners who works with Sandra Oh’s Eve Polastri.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to sit tight when it comes to learning more about who she’ll be playing in Cruella. Currently, plot details for her role in the film aren’t being specified.

Howell-Baptiste joins recent previously announced cast member Joel Fry, who boarded the live-action film just last month. Fry will play Jasper— one of Cruella de Vil’s (Emma Stone) henchmen. Meanwhile, Paul Walter Hauser will portray Cruella’s other henchman, Horace.

According to Variety, actress Emma Thompson is officially in talks to join the cast of Disney’s upcoming live-action feature, Cruella.

If she signs on, Thompson’s involvement would mark the actress’ second foray into the world of live-action Disney adaptations.
