Looks like Emma Stone is gearing up to reprise her role as one of Disney’s most notorious villains for Cruella 2.

According to Deadline, Academy Award winner Emma Stone has officially signed on to star in Disney’s upcoming sequel, Cruella 2.

News that a sequel to Disney’s latest live-action endeavor comes just a little over two months after the original villain origin story bypassed theaters and premiered exclusively via Disney+.

Cruella, which also stars fellow Academy Award winner Emma Thompson, finds Stone breathing new life into the villain by catching up with the titular baddie when she’s simply Estella— a clever and creative young grifter simply looking to break into the world of fashion.

But Estella’s life slowly starts falling apart at the seams when she finds herself studying under the cold and callus Baroness von Hellman (Thompson).

Behind the scenes, I Tonya helmer Craig Gillespie as well as screenwriter Tony McNamara are both on board to return to direct, and write for the sequel, respectively.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Cruella 2 debut.

Coming up next for Emma Stone, the actress will be retiming with her The Favourite helmer Yorgos Lanthimos on Poor Things, which is due out sometime next year.

Disney’s live-action Cruella is currently available to stream via Disney+ with Premier Access for an additional fee.
