Season 8 of American Horror Story is set to be a crossover between AHS: Murder House and AHS: Coven, and Emma Roberts teased the return of the coven’s most infamous witch.

Ryan Murphy set the American Horror Story fandom ablaze when he announced that the next chapter of his intense horror anthology would be a crossover of two of the show’s most beloved seasons, the first season, Murder House, and the third, Coven. But once the news settled in, fans quickly started wondering which of their favorites would be returning. Actress Emma Roberts, who played the wonderfully catty (lowkey undead) witch, Madison Montgomery, in Coven was not initially announced to return, but it seems we haven’t seen the last of Ms. Montgomery.

During last night’s episode of Pose on FX, Roberts took to Instagram to release a video. Roberts was in a black dress (the standard dress code for the Coven, obvs), and delivered her now-iconic line, “Surprise, bitch. Bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”

Deadline reports that shortly after Roberts released the video, she and Ryan Murphy had a fun exchange on Twitter, speculating what Madison’s first lines would be. As fans might remember, Madison died twice on the show, once when Jessica Lange’s character, Fiona, slit her throat, and again after being strangled by Kyle (Evan Peters). So obviously Madison won’t let a third return from the grave come without some sort of fanfare.

In addition to Roberts’ return, this epic crossover season will also see the return of AHS all-stars like Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, as well as the return of our newer AHS faves like Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Billie Lourd, and Leslie Grossman. Legendary actress Joan Collins will also be a new face added to the mix this season. The cast is rounding out with a ton of awesome talent, but we can’t help but hope that, like Roberts, the announcement of the return of other Coven and Murder House faves like Jessica Lange (please oh please oh please come back!!!) and Taissa Farmiga will break soon.

Either way, we’re happy to see Madison Montgomery return to shake up life in the coven. American Horror Story 8 doesn’t have a specific release date just yet, but we can expect to see it premiere on FX fall 2018.
