“The Monster” debuted on Shade 45, Eminem’s hip-hop/rap radio station on Sirius XM, today at 4:45 p.m. EST. The song will be available on iTunes tonight at midnight EST. Check out the song’s artwork:

The hook, sung by Rihanna, says, “I’m friends with the monster that’s under my bed / Get along with the voices inside of my head / You trying to save me, stop holding your breath / And you think I’m crazy, yeah, you think I’m crazy.”

Meanwhile, Eminem raps about defeating the monster that’s inside himself: “Cause I needed an intervention in this to intervene between me and this monster / And save me from myself and all this conflict / Cause the very things that I love is killing me and I can’t conquer it.”

Eminem and Rihanna have previously worked together on “Love the Way You Lie,” featured on Eminem’s last album, Recovery. The duo did a follow-up song, “Love the Way You Lie, Part 2,” which can be found on Rihanna album Loud.

This is the fourth song released from Eminem’s upcoming eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Previously, he’s debuted “Berzerk” and “Survival,” both of which have official music videos, along with “Rap God,” which is also only in audio form.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will drop in just a few weeks on November 5. Meanwhile, the rapper will be appearing on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest to promote his album. That episode will air on November 2 and be hosted by actress Kerry Washington.

Pre-order bundles for The Marshall Mathers LP 2 are available until October 31 and include merchandise promoting the album. These pre-orders are for the deluxe edition of MMLP2, which will contain five bonus songs. The deluxe edition’s cover and tracklist were both recently released.
