Just days before the Revenge series finale, we’re learning that Emily VanCamp will return to the big screen in Captain America: Civil War.

Captain America: Civil War (which you may know better as “That movie starring every comic book character Marvel has the rights to”) has recently begun filming in Atlanta, and while we can assume all of the main actors (and characters) have been announced, a few smaller roles are still hanging in the balance.

One of these was Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Kate, a.k.a. Agent 13, who was introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. She was stationed in Steve (Chris Evans)’ apartment complex to watch over him, back when S.H.I.E.L.D. was still S.H.I.E.L.D.

After the Hydra takeover, Agent 13 proved her loyalty to Captain America, and will likely side with him against Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and whatever major players choose Iron Man over Cap.

Now, considering the character’s comic book origins, we know what you’re thinking: She’s a woman, roughly around the same age as Steve… going by Hollywood standards, surely it’s safe to predict that she’ll be Cap’s love interest? Recently, Chris Evans was asked whether Cap will finally find love (again) in his third solo movie, and he was predictably coy about the answer.

Well, we don’t know about you, but at this point we’re kind of hoping they don’t try to shoehorn a love story into the already jam-packed sequel, which has its hands full between half the Avengers cast returning, the introduction of Spider-Man, Steve’s struggles with his best-friend-turned-assassin Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and the actual Civil War itself!

However, in the comics, Agent 13 is, in fact, Steve’s love interest. Her real name is Sharon Carter, and she is revealed to be the niece of Steve’s first love Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). That wasn’t addressed in Winter Soldier, however, and the Russo Brothers might choose to leave the connection out altogether.

Whatever they end up doing with her character though, we’re just happy to see the actress-to-actor ratio improve, however incrementally.

You can catch Emily VanCamp in the exciting Revenge series finale, which airs this Sunday at 9/8c on ABC!

‘Captain America: Civil War’ will premiere in exactly one year: On May 6, 2016.
