The film Your Voice in My Head, previously an exciting collaboration between Emma Watson and director David Yates, now has neither of the two names attached to the project.

Actor Stanley Tucci, who had joined the film a year ago this month, revealed the information while promoting Jack the Giant Slayer. He confirmed that Emily Blunt has replaced Watson. Tucci is best known right now for his role in The Hunger Games series as Caesar Flickerman.

Why the switch? If you’ve been following Watson’s career here on Hypable over the past few months, you know she’s been busy with several projects. Most recently we heard she was in early talks to play Cinderella for Disney. There’s also the high chance she’ll play Belle in Beauty and the Beast for Guillermo Del Toro. Our guess is she left Your Voice in My Head because of these other ventures and Yates’ departure in May.

Blunt will take on the role of Emma Forrest. The film is based on the memoir of the same name by Forrest. Blunt was seen in last year’s Looper and is currently shooting All You Need Is Kill directed by Doug Liman.

We’ve reached out to Watson’s representatives for comment on the casting switch-up and are awaiting a response.

Your Voice in My Head is described as a “modern-day fairy tale” that is “clear-eyed and shot through with wit. In her unique voice, Emma Forrest explores the highs and lows of love and the heartbreak of loss.” Purchase on Amazon.
