The final book in Ellie Marney’s Every series has not yet been released, but she has already begun work on an Every Breath spinoff.

While speaking to Marney about Every Move, the final book in her trilogy, she revealed that while we have to say goodbye to Rachel and Mycroft in this book, we don’t have to say goodbye to the world she has created just yet.

Marney’s next book will feature Harris Derwent, a character introduced in Every Move. She is tight-lipped about plot details, but gave us a few teases.

“It’s set in Mildura. It’s drug crime, so it’s going to be a little bit more real, and a little bit more romance,” said Marney. “It’s quite a diverse cast, and one of the characters is a police sergeant’s daughter. That’s about all I can say at this stage. I’m going to kill you in the feels.” The working title is No Limits.

Having read Every Move earlier this month, we can promise that Harris is sure to become a fan favorite, and we’re eager to read more of his adventures.

The Every Move synopsis gave readers their first taste of Harris:

Rachel Watts is suffering from recurring nightmares about her near-death experience in London. She just wants to forget the whole ordeal, but her boyfriend, James Mycroft, is obsessed with piecing the puzzle together and anticipating the next move of the mysterious Mr Wild – his own personal Moriarty.

So when Rachel’s brother, Mike, suggests a trip back to their old home in Five Mile, Rachel can’t wait to get away. Unfortunately it’s not the quiet weekend she was hoping for with the unexpected company of Mike’s old school buddy, the wildly unreliable Harris Derwent.

Things get worse for Rachel when Harris returns to Melbourne with them – but could Harris be the only person who can help her move forward? Then a series of murders suggests that Mr Wild is still hot on their tails and that Mycroft has something Wild wants – something Wild is prepared to kill for.

Marney’s Every trilogy is a modern Sherlock Holmes story, with a twist. James Mycroft and Rachel Watts are our Holmes and Watson, but in this adaptation, the Sherlock Holmes stories already exist and the lives of our heroes oddly parallel Conan Doyle’s original characters. The meta aspect of the series doesn’t detract from the gritty realism Marney has created in the streets of Melbourne, Australia.

Every Move by Ellie Marney, the final book in the Every trilogy, will release in Australia on February 25, 2015. International fans needn’t worry, as the second book, Every Word, will release in the United States in September 2015.
