A 90-second sample of Ellie Goulding’s “Mirrors” off The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack has been released, and it sounds like it’s straight off of Halcyon.

Listen to “Mirrors” by Goulding below (not to be confused with Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” which the female singer covered earlier this year).

‘Mirrors’ by Ellie Goulding lyrics (partial)

I look in the mirror
And I try to see myself
We ever look terror
From the games I played so well
I try to see clearer
I try to forget the thoughts I started
I try to be nearer

To where you are
To where you are

And we’re star-crossed lovers
Did I really want you gone
If I’m really a winner
Where do these demons come from?

I was the girl that was on fire
Are you gone?
I was the girl that was on fire
Are you gone?

We like the specific reference to the Girl on Fire (Katniss) right in the song, and we love the change of voice during “to where you are,” symbolizing the person at the other end who’s asking the same question. “Mirrors” sounds like it’s a song right off of Goulding’s most recent album Halcyon Days featuring the hit single “Burn.”

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack has an all-star line up. Last week, a sample of The Lumineers’ “Gale Song” was released. Days before that one we heard Of Monsters and Men’s “Silhouettes.”

The soundtrack will drop on November 19 – mere days before Catching Fire’s’ theatrical release November 22.
