Elizabeth Olsen has now confirmed after months of rumors that she has joined the cast of The Avengers: Age of Ultron in a new interview.

While there have been rumors that Elizabeth Olsen has been eyed for the role of Scarlet Witch in The Avengers sequel, Marvel certainly hasn’t announced it officially. But during an interview with MTV, the actress reveals that she has been cast.

“We [Aaron Taylor-Johnson] get to play husband and wife [in Godzilla], and we get to play twin brother and sister [in Age of Ultron],” says Olsen. “It’s also fun because even though in ‘Godzilla’ we play husband and wife, we don’t have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I’m so excited…to actually work with each other. I think it’s going to be fun.”

Now that Elizabeth Olsen has been cast, she and Taylor-Johnson will be in the latest Godzilla film together, and then they’ll play Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Joss Whedon’s Avengers sequel.

The actress also revealed that she’s “feeling really excited about Scarlet Witch because the character is really complicated. It’s really fun stuff. I’m kind of tired of playing myself right now, like, versions of myself. Doing something like [Scarlet Witch] sounds a lot cooler.”

It was also recently confirmed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be playing Quicksilver after months and months of rumors that he had been cast. We’re definitely interested in seeing how these two work together now that they’ve had a few scenes with each other on Godzilla.

Olsen is definitely talented, so we look forward to seeing her take on Scarlet Witch, who is said to be one of Joss Whedon’s favorite characters. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are actually mutants, and were son and daughter of X-Men’s Magneto in the comic world.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron release date is set for May 1, 2015.
