Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games) talked a bit about the film in the below video interview, and one of the issue addressed in the discussion was what the intended rating for The Hunger Games is.

To Collider.com, she explained:

“It’s definitely not going to be R-rated. We want the fans of the book to be able to see the movie, and we’re dealing with all of that in the best way possible, and we’re all very cognizant we’re making a movie in which kids die.”

She also touched on the rumored involvement of Steven Soderbergh with second unit production on The Hunger Games.

“I didn’t work with him and I don’t know anything about it, but it’s exciting if it’s true. . . . I can tell you that I think the fans are going to be really excited by what’s going on. I think anytime you could deliver a movie that’s both entertaining and also thought-provoking it’s a great combination, and that’s what we’re doing. It’s an exciting prospect.”
