Don’t let the title confuse you, Peter Jackson’s upcoming prequel to Lord of the Rings will definitely be filmed in New Zealand. However, a recent interview with Elijah Wood reveals that some filming for The Hobbit will also be done in the UK. Check out further details here.

When Elijah Wood (Frodo) was asked by NYMag when he will be going back to New Zealand to begin filming for The Hobbit, Wood responded with:

“October. I’m going to the U.K. first to do some shooting, but then I’m going down in October for the New Zealand part.”

Interesting. It certainly comes as a bit of a surprise that The Hobbit will not be entirely filmed in New Zealand, like The Lord of the Rings trilogy was. Nonetheless, it is certain to be a very exciting production!
