This week’s Elementary season 3, episode 7 follows the nose to try and solve a murder where the only clue is the smell of nutmeg.

By now viewers are aware of Sherlock’s many quirks and keen senses. But to find a killer with only the smell of nutmeg as a clue? Even that seems like a stretch for the detective on this week’s Elementary season 3, episode 7, “The Adventure of the Nutmeg Concoction.”

A quick look at the guest star credits for this week will indicate that there is a man who goes by “The Nose” who will appear. Whether he is a friend or foe remains to be seen.

Synopsis: “A bored Sherlock forces his investigative services onto Joan, who is trying to locate a woman who has been missing for five years, and the only clue is the smell of nutmeg at the site of her disappearance. Meanwhile, Joan’s bond with her long-distance boyfriend, Andrew, is tested when a man from her past reappears and asks for her help.”

Joan has quite the bundle of male suitors lined up for this season. With Andrew off in Copenhagen, Joan will invite guest star Christian Camargo back into her life. As reported earlier this year, Camargo was once a colleague of Joan’s in medical school and the two of them were close to being Mr. and Mrs. Watson-Santos. Watson has another man coming into her life later this season as well! Joan’s symmetrical face, as Sherlock puts it, is definitely not failing at attracting a mate.

Hopefully in the coming weeks the previews will catch up to the show’s new direction and begin to stray away from the “For Holmes and Watson” bumpers in each promo. But we do hope they keep Sherlock’s quips and snark!

Be sure to tune in to Elementary season 3, episode 7, “The Adventure of the Nutmeg Concoction,” Thursday, December 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
