What could be on a map of Virginia that is worth two lives? Check out two new clips from this week’s Elementary season 3, episode 6, “Terra Pericolosa.”

Ever heard the saying it’s not the path that leads you there, it’s what you learn along the way? That may be true, but not for the people who are after a very particular map on this week’s Elementary season 3, episode 6, “Terra Pericolosa.” The title of this week’s episode translates to “dangerous land.” It is no wonder that the path to finding the thief behind the map’s disappearance is a deadly one.

Holmes, Watson, and Winter are back together as the trifecta charged with finding a murderer who wants a stolen map of King James County, Virginia. Perhaps this is the map that will lead to the great American treasure?

Not according to guest star Mamie Gummer, starring as a wealthy heiress whose grandfather’s esteemed collection is partially displayed at the 39th street library. One item, a map on loan by the Bray family, was the target of the cartography driven robbery. While Margaret Bray may not have any details regarding this particular thief, Sherlock has another way to include her in the investigation.

Who stole whose map?

René Duchez, not a bad alias for someone trying to keep a low profile and case a location. Unless of course Sherlock Holmes is tracking your whereabouts. During WWII, Duchez stole a set of plans of the defenses Hitler had in place along the Atlantic Wall. The burglar in this week’s episode uses the same name to scope out the location of the Brays map. But was he an avid collector or a seller?

Stuart was not the only person willing to kill for the information hidden on the Brays map. But who has more to gain from possessing it?
