A fan-favorite is finally back in the picture as Kitty, Joan, and Sherlock tackle the case of “Bella,” on Elementary season 3, episode 4.

With all the new people moving through Sherlock and Joan’s lives, the most important question of season 3’s character shake up still remains unanswered. How are Joan and Sherlock going to handle custody of Clyde?

Way back in season 1, while on suspension from the NYPD, Sherlock and Joan rescued a tortoise from the home of a conspiracy theorist. Over time he has become the mascot of the Elementary brownstone. But when Sherlock left for London, we wondered, what became of Clyde? Did he have access to lettuce and his cozy outfits?

Luckily, Joan treated him to a lovely set up in Chelsea. So far this season Sherlock has show little investment in Clyde (though we do think we caught a longing glance last week). But will he want him back?

No need to wait any longer for answers! In this clip from tomorrow’s Elementary season 3, episode 4, “Bella,” Clyde returns to the brownstone, but under certain restrictions.

Shared custody. We called it.

There is more happening this week than Sherlock’s crazy leeches and the triumphant return of Clyde’s lettuce crunch.

In this next clip, Sherlock meets Edwin Bornstein, the creator of an Artificial Intelligence software named “Bella,” that was recently stolen. What’s so special about a piece of programming that it grabs Sherlock’s attention?

Asking for a less robotic sounding voice is one thing, but for access to the internet is an entirely different matter. This “clever programming” will give the detective’s brain a good run. Who knows, he may even find he and Bella have more in common than he ever suspected!

The final clip from this week’s episode pairs off Kitty and Joan as they tackle the field work element of the case. In a similar vein to how Joan and Sherlock built their relationship, it is easier for Kitty to approach sensitive subjects where she is most comfortable and the work provides an easy distraction.

The rest of the episode will hopefully be generous with Kitty and Watson working away from Sherlock. After all, isn’t that the point of giving Sherlock something shiny to play with?

Tune in to Elementary season 3, episode 4, “Bella,” Thursday, November 20 at 10:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
