Most romantic entanglements elude Sherlock Holmes and Detective Bell’s love life is no exception. This week’s Elementary, “The Best Way Out is Always Through,” examines three cases involving a dead judge, an undercover agent, and the Stanley Cup.

Joan took the lead on a case involving a drug smuggling campaign that utilized people’s bodies as the perfect transporting device for heroine from Brazil to the US. While Joan and Bell were off tracing a chain of drug dealers to a dentist who wants to cross over to a more lucrative profession. Alfredo, meanwhile, causes quite a stir with his former employer. Sherlock attempts to rectify the situation, but by doing so must break the unspoken rule that a sponsee cannot treat their sponsor as their friend. Sherlock decides that keeping Alfredo as a friend is more important than retaining him as his sponsor.

Tonight on ‘Elementary’

One day you walk in to find Phil Simms throwing knives, another you find the Stanley Cup sitting in your shower. More pressing than the presence of a very large piece of hockey memorabilia in the bathroom is a dead judge on a subway platform with a screwdriver in his chest. Their investigation joins forces with another precinct that employs Marcus’ romantic partner. But is she all that she says she is?
