As its season premiere draws ever closer, Sherlock Holmes adaptation Elementary has released the official synopsis for episode 1 – which stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.

The pilot episode hits screens on Sept. 27, and sees Jonny Lee Miller’s Sherlock relocate to New York after his drug addiction led Holmes Senior to send him to rehab. Having recovered from his addictions (thought not his arrogance and temperament) Sherlock finds himself with disgraced surgeon Dr. Joan Watson, who quickly becomes entangled in the great detective’s mood swings, cases, and extraordinary observational skills.
