Prepare to strap in for another wild ride — it looks like Baby Driver might be getting a sequel!

Edgar Wright’s incredibly unique Baby Driver is garnering an immense amount of buzz, and it turns out critics and movie goers aren’t the only ones who have taken note!

In a brand new interview with Empire’s film podcast, Wright revealed that Sony’s TriStar Pictures has taken note of the heist film’s success. In fact, it looks like they’re impressed enough to already be talking sequels.

In the episode, Wright revealed that the studio has already approached him about potentially penning a sequel to the action packed drama, which could spell good news for fans of the film who just can’t get enough of Baby (Ansel Elgort) and his penchant for making quick getaways.

Though Sony Pictures has yet to comment on the potential for a sequel, it looks like Wright has already got some ideas as to where a second film could find some of the characters we were introduced to in Baby Driver.

“I sort of have an idea that if you did another one you would subvert his involvement in the crime in a different way so he’s not kind of the apprentice anymore,” said Wright, according to Vulture.

Switching things up might make for an interesting film, and we’d definitely be interested to see what Wright might do if he were to revisit the characters we’ve now been introduced to. And of course, we’d be equally as excited to see what other toe-tapping tracks Wright might incorporate into any future Baby Driver sequel he might have up his sleeve!

Since wide releasing in theaters, Baby Driver has continued to impress in more ways than one. The film currently has an impressive 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and additionally made $30 million in the domestic box office during opening weekend. With numbers like that, we won’t be surprised Sony Pictures ends up giving a Baby Driver sequel the green light sooner rather than later!
