If 2016’s The Edge of Seventeen left you longing for more coming-of-age teen angst, then you’re about to have your wish granted.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Hailee Seinfeld-led coming-of-age dramedy, The Edge of Seventeen, is about to get a television spinoff.

The new series will premiere via YouTube’s subscription service, YouTube Red, and much like the 2016 film, it’ll focus on a female high school student and her best friend as they go through the ups and downs that come along with being a teenager.

Of course, much of what drew viewers into the critically acclaimed 2016 film was Nadine (Seinfeld) herself, and the way the film portrays elements of loneliness and confusion as she tries to reconcile with the fact that her best friend and her brother are now dating.

Unfortunately, it sounds like fans looking for another chapter of Nadine’s story shouldn’t hold their breath.

The new spinoff series is set to have a whole new cast. That being said, Kelly Fremon Craig, who wrote, directed and produced the original film, is returning to serve as executive producer on the series.

With Craig on board, we’re sure the tone of the new series will reflect that of the film that inspired it.

Meanwhile, the studio has tapped Transparent and Atypical alumn Annabel Oakes to pen the script for the pilot.

There’s no word yet on when the Edge of Seventeen series is expected to premiere on YouTube Red.
