If you’re eagerly anticipating the much talked about Ant-Man film directed by Edgar Wright, rejoice, because the project is that much closer to the big screen. Wright (Hot Fuzz) has secretly wrapped production on a test reel for the film!

This according to the The Hollywood Reporter, who says the test reel was recently wrapped in secret, writing:

In mid-June, [Wright] spent just under a week shooting footage for a reel that will be used to test out the potential look and tone of his movie, as well as to decide how convincing Ant-man’s powers look onscreen.

The next obvious questions are: a) If the test-footage is successful, when will we see an Ant-Man movie? After all, the Marvel slate is pretty packed running up the Avengers 2 in 2015. And b) will we see any of this footage at Comic-Con next month, should it prove to successful, of course.

Either way, for any fan of Ant-Man (or Edgar Wright, for that matter), the likelihood of this long-struggling production finally getting a release looks to be on the up-and-up. Are you as excited as we are?
