The Fantastic Beasts series has its name thanks to Newt’s love and study of magical creatures. So, like, will they even be in the sequel as the Wizarding World faces a larger danger?

The answer, thankfully, is yes. In new interviews with Entertainment Weekly, series producer David Heyman and actor Eddie Redmayne (who plays Newt) assures fans that the beasts will still be in Beasts.

“There are as many beasts in the film as in the first,” Heyman promises. “But the main driver in the first film was finding the beasts. That’s not the driver in this film, it’s not a central part of the plot. But beasts feature in the film and feature strongly.”

As for what familiar beasts might make an appearance, Redmayne mentioned a couple critters. He promised that the Niffler and Picket — two hits in the first film from both a story and marketing perspective — will return in the sequel. In addition, “there’s a Chinese creature that’s formidable.”

The actor did not share which Chinese creature it’ll be. A quick Google search shows that while promoting the first film in China last year, the crew promised that a Chinese creature will be making an appearance in the sequels, but they did not elaborate.

We presume it’s not a Chinese Fireball (pictured below). It could very well be an entirely new creature with some cool tricks up its sleeve!

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters this November.

Editor’s note: Johnny Depp, who co-stars in this film, allegedly beat his ex-wife Amber Heard. These accusations were made by Heard and Depp’s former associates. Why are we telling you this?
