We previously told you that Eddie Redmayne will be narrating the first audiobook edition of J.K. Rowling’s original Fantastic Beasts novella, and now the first clip is online.

In it, Redmayne adorably reads the passage on the Basilisk. As you can tell from his reading of the letter “B,” the Newt Scamander actor is reading the book word for word (which is laid out like an Encyclopedia).

Hiring Redmayne to read the audiobook was a brilliant move since the actor plays the character who wrote the guide to the Wizarding World’s creatures.

The new Fantastic Beasts book (and audiobook!) will be released March 14, with a new forward and six new beasts from J.K. Rowling.

“This essential companion to the Harry Potter stories has been revisited by J.K. Rowling, bringing the original classic up to date with new content that reflects the exciting developments in her Wizarding World, with the release of the movie event of 2016, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which was inspired by the original edition of the book,” Pottermore says.
