Eddie Murphy is resurrecting a ’90s classic as part of his next big screen endeavor.

According to Deadline Eddie Murphy has joined the cast of an upcoming comedy inspired by the hit comedy Grumpy Old Men.

Tim Story, who helmed both Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), is on board to direct the film which currently does not have a title.

Additionally, New Line is bringing back John Davis to produce. Davis, who will be producing through his company, Davis Entertainment, also produced the original comedy which made its debut back in the early ’90s.

The original Grumpy Old Men premiered back in 1993 starred Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. The actors starred as Max Goldman and John Gustafso, respectively — two life-long neighbors who have been feuding since childhood.

Though now seniors, the feuding hasn’t lead up. In fact, things come to a head after Walter and Max both wind up falling for a new woman named Ariel Truax who moves in next door (played by Ann-Margret).

Though Murphy will likely star as one of the two male leads, there’s currently no word on who New Line will tap to star opposite the comedian in the reboot.

Murphy was last seen on the big screen starring opposite Britt Robertson (Girlboss, For The People) in the 2016 dramedy, Mr. Church.

Though the actor has a few films coming down the pipeline — including a fourth installment of his popular Beverly Hills Cop franchise — none of them currently have a set release date.
