Microsoft did all it could to win gamers over at today’s press conference. Did they succeed? Here’s a recap of what the E3 2013 Microsoft press conference had in store.

Microsoft is known for catering to their hardcore fans during their press releases. This year was no different.

The Xbox One will come out this November, and will be $499 in North America, 499 euros, and 429 pounds.

Xbox One features

There will no longer be a limit of 100 friends on Xbox Live. A Gold membership can be accessed by anyone in a single household, and all buying credits will be in players’ local currencies, as opposed to Microsoft Points.

Xbox One games will take advantage of Smartglass technology to allow friends to see your progress in the game, along with matching you up with other players while you’re playing a game’s single player mode.

Upload Studio allows players to upload gameplay videos automatically to the Xbox cloud. Personalization, like commentary and skins for the video, can be added. Twitch TV is teaming up with Microsoft, allowing players to instantly broadcast gameplay. Kinect will allow players to have voice and video along with the streams.

Xbox One Games

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be open world, and will have realistic time passage and weather. The trailer took place in a desert setting, and was surrounded around saving one of Solid Snake’s comrades. This marked the first footage we saw for Metal Gear Solid V.

A new Halo was shown off for the first time. The game will come out in 2014, and will run at 60 FPS.

TitanFall was the last game that Microsoft showed off at its E3 2013 Microsoft press conference, and for good reason. TitanFall will come out on the Xbox One, 360, and PC. Check out the impressive trailer of the Respawn Entertainment sci-fi FPS below.

Dead Rising 3 was announced, and gameplay of the zombie survival game was shown off. The game will have no load times, and zombies will be attracted to your every move, causing you to look for distractions to survive. It will be available exclusively for the Xbox One this 2013 holiday season.

Crimson Dragon embarrassingly premiered without sound. The gameplay shown featured dragons flying around in a high speed, explosiony environment.

A little later in the demonstration, Battlefield 4 faced similar sound issues, where the developer showing off the game stood in front of a jeering crowd for nearly 30 seconds. Eventually, the Battlefield footage played with sound, demonstrating a high-octane on seas navy airship assault.

The first footage for Witcher 3 premiered, demonstrating how gorgeous the open world fantasy game was going to look on next-gen consoles. The game will take advantage of Kinect technology with optional voice commands for quick switching and casting of spells. “A truly next gen epic fantasy RPG,” the presenter remarked.

Ryse: Son of Rome is a third person, over the shoulder Roman warrior game with Heavy Rain-quick time commands. Killer Instinct, a 2D fighting game, will make its return on the Xbox One.

Sunset Overdrive is an open world parkour game by Insomniac and Microsoft studios. The game is very stylized, and nearly Pixar like, but the violence in the game won’t cater to that young audience. Forza Motorsport 5 will be a breathtaking – looking first person racing game that has AI that’s “very human like.”

Minecraft Xbox One Edition was announced. Quantum Break will impact the TV show of the same name, making a “new type of storytelling.” D4, a cell shaded episodic murder mystery game, was announced alongside Quantum Break.

Project Spark allows players to create games from the ground up, using Smartglass and Kinect commands. “There are an infinite amount of ways to create, build, and share” said the developer.

Xbox 360 games

Max: the Curse of Brotherhood is an adventure game for the Xbox 360 that follows the story of an older brother wishing for his younger into another dimension, where the younger must then be saved. Dark Souls II was also announced for the 360.

The lineup for the Xbox One seems to be running fairly strong as of right now. However, there will always be fans that feel like they deserve more out of a new console’s first E3 convention.
