And the couple eliminated in Week 2 on DWTS, finishing in twelfth place, is… Tavis and Sharna!

This equals Sharna’s worst finish yet (from two seasons ago, though that time she was twelfth out of twelve). I’m glad to see the back of Tavis – he obviously was not prepared to commit to this show, what with his book and myriad other commitments, so it’s good he didn’t waste his and our time. His departure was super serious, as expected, and he kept talking even as Tom tried to tell him he was out of time.

The other couple that almost got eliminated was Michael and Emma. Sadly, we did not get an official Bottom Two. It’s clearly a matter of time before Michael and Emma are eliminated, but they’re so much fun, I hope they outlast Betsey and Tommy. It is a meh season when five couples need to be eliminated for real competition to begin.

There were a lot of performances, but DWTS still feels a tad out of practice with the results shows. To be honest, though, their Monday night shows also feel a touch out of practice, with extremely shoddy camera work. Either way, wasting time with a segment called “A to Z of Dancing with the Stars” is just sad. They should honestly have taken this time to let us get to know the stars a bit better. I’ve long thought that results shows would optimally be on a separate night but a half hour long, and I stand by that.

Julianne Hough danced tonight, as we all knew she would, in perhaps the most revealing outfit we’ve seen yet on DWTS. If we saw any more of Julianne, this would belong on HBO – though no complaints here!

What did you think of Tavis’s elimination? Do you think it was the right choice? And have you enjoyed having results shows back these two weeks, or are you ready to go back to Mondays-only?
