You’ll have to wait a little longer to see Dune on the big screen, but at least now we know when we can see Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley movie!

Deadline is reporting that Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is vacating its planned November 20, 2020 release date. The film, which boasts an all-star cast featuring Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista and Josh Brolin, will now be released a month later, on December 18, 2020.

Christmas event film releases historically perform very well, so this could be a good move for Dune. Warner Bros. is still holding the November 20 date, which originally belonged to Fantastic Beasts 3, for an “untitled release.” We previously reported that Fantastic Beasts 3 was being pushed to late 2021. Since production hasn’t even begun on the film yet, we’re not expecting it to take its slot back from Dune, unfortunately.

In other Warner Bros. release news, barring any further shake ups, we can expect to see Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley film, which will star Austin Butler, on October 1, 2021.
