Dune officially has a release date for late 2020.

Legendary Entertainment’s science fiction reboot will be released on November 20, 2020. The highly anticipated movie is being directed by Denis Villeneuve, who directed the visually stunning Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival. Villeneuve is also co-writing the movie with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth and producing with Mary Parent and Cale Boyter. It’s based on a 1965 book series by Frank Herbert. It was previously adapted in 1984.

Jason Momoa is allegedly in negotiations to join the already stacked cast, which includes Zendaya, Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Rebecca Ferguson and Dave Bautista. Variety reports that Momoa is in talks to play the role of Duncan Idaho.

In the Dune reboot, Timothee Chalamet will play Paul Atreides, who lives on the desert planet of Arrakis. Zendaya is set to play the character’s love interest, Chani.

The series deals with the planet Arrakis, which Atreides’ family controls. When their claim to the “throne” is challenged, a battle ensues and Paul seeks vengeance by forming a rebellion to regain control.

Production on Dune will begin in the spring.
