Willie and Jase took their competitive nature to a new level on Duck Dynasty season 5, episode 5 “Burger Commander” which aired last night. Now you can read our recap to find out what happened and discuss with other fans!
Here are the highlights from Duck Dynasty season 5, episode 5 “Burger Commander”:
Si gets a new watch and can’t stop obsessing over it’s impressive technology. When Willie comes in with food from their favorite burger place the discussion turns to how much money could be made. Si tries to use his watch to calculate it but comes up with a questionable number.
Willie leaves the guys to finish their order but can’t stop thinking about the business opportunity in burger chains. Willie tries to convince Jase he makes the best burger in town. But Jase argues that he makes the best burgers. Si thinks that Phil and Miss Kay make better burgers but agrees to judge the boys burgers to see who does better.
Jep stops by Phil’s place to pick up some newspaper’s for Jessica’s decoupage project. Phil doesn’t understand exactly what decoupage is but jumps at the opportunity to get rid of some of the stuff piling up in his shed. He even tries to convince Jep to take the whole lot. Instead Jep tells Phil to take it all to the recycling center. But isn’t happy when he’s pushed into helping Phil load it all up.
The guys head to the market to pick up their ingredients. While Jase isn’t happy to be at the grocery store – Willie feels right at home. Jase insists on keeping his ingredients a secret from Willie, especially the meat.
Somehow, Jep helping Phil load up the paper in the truck turns into a one man job. And Jep gets the short end of the stick. Jessica shows up to check on them and tells Miss Kay about her decoupage project. So of course she wants to jump in on the project and have some fun! While Jep is not pleased to learn that not only is the paper heavy to move but also soaked in rat pee.
At the burger cook off, Jase and Willie partake in some friendly (or not so friendly) intimidation. They size up the others ingredients and both think they have the competition in the bag. Willie gets peeved when Jase won’t let him borrow a pan to cook his egg. But Jase isn’t taking any chances in the competition.
When the time’s up, Martin and Godwin aren’t sure how to tackle Willie’s massive burger. They say there’s too much going on and he over did it. When Godwin tries to fit it all in his mouth it ends up breaking apart before he can even taste it. Jase’s burger on the other hand is small and simple. Martin is able to take a bite – but it doesn’t stay in his mouth for long. Even Godwin doesn’t like it and they declare that both Willie and Jase lose.
They decide to go out for burgers instead and bring some back to Phil and Kay’s to eat with the family. And of course they use Jessica and Miss Kay’s new decoupage table to hold the condiments.
