Drive was one of last year’s surprise hits, with the ultra-violent Ryan Gosling vehicle making many top 10 lists and achieving instant cult status. And now it looks like the film industry wants to see a sequel!

Drive author James Sallis gave an interview with The Independent about his recently released sequel Driven, which sees the character played by Ryan Gosling trying to settle into a new life away from his criminal past.

The author hinted at a movie production of the new novel, stating that the movie studios “love the book.” While this isn’t anything concrete, a sequel wouldn’t be all that shocking. The original managed a not-to-be-sniffed-at $76 million worldwide, and DVD sales have skyrocketed as word of mouth has spread. However, a crucial factor in adapting Driven is the return of star Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn.

Do you think Driven is a good idea?
