Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ new Dracula series is officially set to air on the BBC in the U.K. and Netflix for most regions outside the U.K.

In their first major collaboration since Sherlock, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are bringing a new, well-known literary figure to life on the small screen. It was first reported in 2017 that the two were working on a Dracula television adaptation, and it seems the show has finally found a home in the U.K. and other countries.

According to Variety, the BBC has commissioned three, 90-minute episodes of the new series about the famous vampire. U.K. fans can catch the show on BBC One, and for those of us living outside of the U.K., we’ll be able to catch the show on Netflix.

The series is a co-production of the BBC and Netflix, so hopefully, non-U.K. viewers won’t have to wait too terribly long to check out the new series. However, there isn’t an official release date for Dracula in the U.K. or on Netflix.

But the series is in great hands, and after hearing Moffat and Gatiss talk about their new show, we can’t wait to see it. Gatiss and Moffat have said of the infamous vampire, “There have always been stories about great evil. What’s special about Dracula is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero.” Dracula is certainly a well-loved, literary classic, and with Gatiss and Moffat’s creative hand behind this new series, it will certainly bring the vampire to life in exciting ways.

If their work on Sherlock is any indication, this new Dracula series is going to bring this story to life in a way that will excite new fans of the story and those who have loved the Stoker novel for years. We’ll continue bringing you breaking news on the series as a cast and premiere dates are announced.
