Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay is gearing up to join Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy in the upcoming film adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein.

Findlay is proving that there is life after leaving one of the most critically acclaimed shows on television, Downton Abbey.

The English beauty has reportedly joined Radcliffe, who will play Igor, and McAvoy, who is set to play Dr. Frankenstein, in 20th Century Fox’s forthcoming retelling of the classic tale.

The film will re-imagine the story from the perspective of Igor, Dr. Frankenstein’s loyal assistant, and reports have Findlay gearing up to play Lorelei, a circus performer who becomes close with Igor.

Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Sherlock) is directing the project from a script written by Max Landis (Chronicle).

Findlay is best known for her role on the hit ITV/PBS drama Downton Abbey as Lady Sybil. The actress recently opted out of renewing her contract and exited the acclaimed series.

Findlay has certainly lined up a promising post-Abbey life, signing on to four forthcoming films. First up, the star joins an impressive cast including Amy Adams, Terrence Howard, and Richard Jenkins in the drama Lullaby, due out in December.

She will also star alongside Collin Farrell, Will Smith, Russell Crowe, and Matt Bomer in the star-studded film adaptation of Mark Helprin’s novel Winter’s Tale, due to hit theaters in February of 2014.

There is no word yet on a release date for Fox’s untitled Frankenstein adaptation, but it is set to hit theaters some time in 2014.
