Of course Downton Abbey actress Maggie Smith sorts herself into Gryffindor, but what about Laura Carmichael and Hugh Bonneville? Find out which Hogwarts House Downton Abbey stars sort themselves in during this new on-set video.

Fans have always wondered which Hogwarts house our favorite Downton Abbey actors would be in, Hypable has even speculated as to who would be sorted in which house. But, now we have proof as the Downton actors revealed where the sorting hat would put them.

Downton Abbey‘s season 5 comes to an end in the U.S. Sunday, March 1. Masterpiece Classic has revealed that the final episode was shot at some of the locations that were used in the Harry Potter films. While they won’t say which ones, it’s fine, as we now know which Hogwarts house some of our favorite Downton stars have been sorted in.

In the video we hear from many of the shows stars, with Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith, saying, “I think Edith would probably be in Ravenclaw. I know people are going to want to say Slytherin, but she’s not that bad!”

Hugh Bonneville, who plays the Earl of Grantham, also felt that Sybil would have been with Ron, Hermione, and Harry in Gryffindor. “Violet would have to be Gryffindor,” Hugh Bonneville said, and it’s hard to argue considering actress Maggie Smith played the incredible Professor McGonagall.

Thomas Barrow and Lady Mary’s Hogwarts houses are also revealed in the video, so be sure to let us know what you think now that we know where some of our favorite Downton Abbey stars have been sorted.

While we know most of our fans have seen season 5 in the U.K., Downton Abbey season 5’s final episode will air in the U.S. on March 1, 2015 at 9 p.m. ET on MASTERPIECE on PBS.
