Coming off a strong first episode, Downton Abbey series 4, episode 2 airs tonight and will surely see Lady Mary swinging back into action.

It was interesting to see Lady Mary (played by Michelle Dockery) struggling to move on from Matthew, but words of wisdom from various members of the estate – primarily Violet and Carson – helped her come out of the rut.

The Downton Abbey series 4, episode 2 synopsis is as follows:

Emerging from her grief, Mary starts to take an interest in the running of the estate, but is met with resistance from Robert. As Molesley’s fortunes worsen, Bates hatches a plan to help him. Out for a bit of fun, Rose gets into a sticky situation at a tea dance in York. Mrs Hughes urges Carson to let an old wound heal.
