Another actress has joined the cast of Downton Abbey series 4 to take on the role of a nanny for Lady Sybil’s child.

Warning: Light spoilers.

Daisy Lewis will reportedly play the new caretaker, according to The Daily Mail.

Fans of the series know that Sybil passed away after receiving bad medical advice post-birth. Her husband Tom will supposedly accept the help of a live-in nanny but, as you’d expect on Downton, the two begin a secret affair.

“Daisy will become one of Downton’s most prominent characters,” says a source who spoke to The Daily Mail. “She wowed producers in her audition and they are delighted to have secured such a brilliant young actress.”

“Her romance with Tom will be one of the main storylines of the series. He will begin to develop feelings for her and they start a secret affair,” the source continued.

The news of Lewis’ casting has not been confirmed by ITV at this time. The show is currently shooting in England where filming is expected to wrap in the coming weeks.

Romance has always played an important role on Downton and series 4 will be no different. Last week we learned who now-regular character Cousin Rose will be cozying up with.

Downton Abbey series 4 doesn’t have a premiere date in the United Kingdom, but we do know PBS plans to commence its airing of new episodes in the United States beginning January 4. ITV will likely begin running series 4 in November.

Thanks, Daily Mail.
