Jennifer Lawrence is heading to Netflix for her next project.

On Wednesday (February 19), Netflix took to Twitter to announce that Jennifer Lawrence is officially on board to star in a brand new comedy hailing from Vice and The Big Short filmmaker Adam McKay.

The tweet revealed that the comedy is titled Don’t Look Up, in addition to offering up a short synopsis of the project.

“A new Adam McKay comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence? It’s happening. In Don’t Look Up, an asteroid is approaching Earth and it’s up to two low-level astronomers to go on a massive media tour to warn the rest of mankind.”

In a statement announcing the film McKay, spoke of how excited he is to be working with Lawrence on Don’t Look Up.

“I’m so thrilled to make this movie with Jennifer Lawrence. She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite talent.’ And the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way,” said McKay according to Variety.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s Scott Stuber added: “Adam has always had great timing when it comes to making smart, relevant and irreverent films that depict our culture. Even if he somehow ends up predicting planet earth’s imminent demise, we’re excited to add this to our slate before it all comes to an end.”

Principle photography on Don’t Look Up is scheduled to start sometime in April, but there’s currently no word on when the film will premiere via Netflix.
