There’ll be a familiar Rogue One face amongst the cast of Disney’s upcoming live action Mulan when it hits the big screen!

The Wrap reports that actor Donnie Yen has officially joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation of Mulan.

Yen will be playing Commander Tung in the upcoming remake, and joins previously announced cast member Liu Yifei who will be playing the fearless titular character.

Commander Tung isn’t one of the characters that was featured in Disney’s beloved 1998 animated version of the film, but the casting announcement did give us a bit of insight as to what Yen’s role in the film will entail.

According to Deadline, Commander Tung is descried as being a mentor and teacher to Mulan so it sounds like we’ll be getting some really nice scenes between Yen and Yifei when the film eventually hits theaters.

Though Yen is well known for his previous roles in action movies like Blade II and Shanghai Knights, Disney fans might recognize him from 2016’s Star Wars standalone, Rogue One, where he played Chirrut Imwe.

Disney’s live action adaptation is being directed by Whale Rider helmer Niki Caro, with Jason Reed, Chris Bender and Jake Weiner serving as producers on the project.

The film is set to hit the big screen on March 27, 2020.
