While Don Cheadle was being interviewed for his recent Golden Globe nominated role in House of Lies, he mentioned that he would be filming in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

While The Avengers: Age of Ultron doesn’t start filming until spring 2014, Cheadle revealed to USA Today that he does in fact have a part in the film. During the interview, he says that he will have “a part to film in the next Avengers movie.”

He was last seen in Iron Man 3, and while his role was still fairly small, he was vital to the plot. We’re unsure how large his role will be in the Avengers sequel, although we can’t imagine it being very big considering how many characters are already involved in Joss Whedon’s film.

Cheadle was very brief due mostly to the fact that he wasn’t there to discuss his Marvel character, but to discuss his Golden Globe nomination for his character in Showtime’s House of Lies.

During Iron Man 3’s promotion, he and the rest of the cast were unsure whether there would be another Iron Man film, but Cheadle did reveal that there had been some conversations concerning his future role with Marvel. There were also some shots of him on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

While he won’t be appearing in that Marvel film, it will have strong ties to The Avengers: Age of Ultron, so we’ll be interested to find out how large his role as James Rhodes could be.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron release date is set for May 1, 2015.
